Learning objectives

The cloud computing and networking course explores the challenges of cloud infrastructures and applications. Fundamentals of cloud computing will be considered, including virtualizations and hypervisors, distributed storage, data center networking, virtual networking, Software Defined Network and Open Flow, etc. Cloud and data center architectures will be discussed with special reference to the OpenStack solutions. The course also focus on cloud programming interfaces used to build applications for the cloud. Most of theoretical lectures are supported by laboratory experience mainly focused on OpenStack and OpenvSwitch.

Introduction to cloud computing. Virtualization. Distributed Storage. Virtual Lan. SDN, Open Flow and OpenVSwitch. OpenStack. Data Center Networking. Cloud API.
