Project Description

Obiettivi

Learning Outcomes
The ISP course objective is to teach analytic and simulation methods to evaluate the Quality of Service (QoS) in systems based on the Internet technology, and methods to design and implement high performance and high QoS platforms and services by mathematical approach (6CFU) or mathematical&simulative approach (9CFU).

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
At the end of the course the student will know the analytical and simulation tools needed to evaluate services and internet platforms.

APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
At the end of the course the student will be able to apply the analytical and simulation tools to the design and implementation of high performance Internet platforms and services with high QoS rates.

MAKING JUDGEMENTS
The course includes intermediate tests to be performed at home that allow the student to judge the level of preparation achieved and fill any gaps that may have accumulated.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS
The intermediate tests include the need to interact with classmates in order to hone their communication skills.

LEARNING SKILLS
The intermediate tests involve an interaction with the teacher who expresses an opinion and invites the student to produce a new version in case of failure.
This forces the student to measure his / her learning skills of the content of the lessons and progressively improve it until it reaches sufficiency

Programma

Program
1.Internet model building: model development methods of Internet platform and services.
2.Internet workload characterization: methods to model and characterize the Internet software workloads and traffic.
3.Internet model evaluation: methods for the efficiency, availability and reliability prediction of 4.Internet platforms and services in the design and implementation phases.
5.Internet model-driven QoS management: QoS definition of Internet platforms and services and their QoS dynamic management.
6.Tools for Model building and evaluation: experimentation of model-development and model-use tools for the study of Internet platform and services.
